64 voters will choose members of the Public Council from 16 candidates - in Azersu

Voter registration for the elections to the Public Council established to ensure public participation and control in “Azersu” OJSC has been completed.

64 representatives of civil society institutions applied to participate as voters to the Election Commission of the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC. These appeals were checked by the Election Commission of the Public Council. As the submitted documents meet the requirements of the legislation, all applicants were registered as voters.

Elections to the Public Council will be held on May 25, 2021 from 10 am to 15 pm in the administrative building of “Azersu” OJSC (67 Moscow Avenue).

 

It should be noted that the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC is established by the order No. 158 dated March 17, 2021 of the Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC. The Public Council will act as an advisory body with the right to make proposals and other rights established by law in order to ensure public participation and control over the activities of “Azersu” OJSC.

In accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Public Participation” and the “Regulations on Election of the Public Council by Civil Society Institutions” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 171 of May 30, 2014, the number limit of members of the Public Council under “Azersu” OJSC were identified 11 people. 16 candidates were registered for the elections to the Public Council.
